This program will give landowners an opportunity to learn to identify some of the common tree, shrub and herbaceous species on their forest properties. We’ll focus on a representative sample of species that grow in Northeast Florida. We’ll also learn to identify some of the most problem invasive exotic plants such as cogongrass, Japanese climbing fern, and tropical soda apple. We will learn to identify live specimens in the field so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Ticks will be plentiful so long pants and sleeves are suggested. Tick repellent will be available but if you prefer a particular brand bring it.
Register: A fee of $10 will be collected at the door to cover materials (make a check payable to University of Florida). Coffee, water and lunch will be provided and each participant will receive a tree/plant ID guide and other materials.
